Will and Taylor met the traditional way that many other American love stories start – on a dating app. Will and Taylor first matched on Bumble back in early 2019. After a few days of awkward messaging back and forth, Will finally took the relationship out of the chat and invited Taylor to go play trivia at Dodies on Lower Greenville. After Will took Taylor on a couple very nice dates, Taylor decided it was her turn to plan something. She chose to treat Will for their 5th date with tickets to the Minnesota Wild vs Dallas Stars. Unfortunately, she also chose to buy the cheapest seats available near the very top row of the American Airlines Center. The date went well, but Will was uncertain of Taylor’s interest given the nosebleed treatment. Taylor thought buying the tickets and bringing him was nice enough, but not for Will, a well-known sports seat-snob. Not too long after, they decided to go their separate ways. Months later, Taylor and Will continuously ran into each other out and about in Dallas. Taylor would be out with friends having a great time while also observing Will look miserable with Taylor's replacement. Taylor admits it brought her a lot of joy in those moments. Will continued to wonder if maybe there was still something there between them. In October of 2020, a little over a year after they had first dated, Will messaged Taylor again on bumble and they decided to give it another try. This time Will took Taylor to drinks at Dessert Racer. Taylor was pleasantly surprised to show up and Will had her go-to drink already on the table. He remembered after all that time. They caught up, reminisced on the fun dates they’d had previously, and talked about potentially giving it another shot. From there they went and played pop-a-shot (everyone knows the Dixons love games). The following February a quick weekend trip to Mexico for Valentines Day turned into an unexpected early test of their relationship. Instead of flying home Sunday as planned, they wound up happily stranded in Mexico together for 10 days due to the historic freeze across Texas that shut down the majority of the state for a week. Despite the lack of hotel reservations, plans, or clean clothes they bounced around to various resorts spontaneously enjoying the extended vacation together. They both point to that trip, and the fact that neither of them got annoyed with the other after 10 days, as the moment they each realized this could be it. However, Will still needed to win over Taylor’s family. He did so the following 4th of July when Taylor’s parents hosted the entire Dixon extended family for a week at the lake house. He endured a week of intense competitions, sleeping on a deflated air mattress in the living room, and friendly heckling from her cousins during Quiplash. He topped it all off the last night with a premium performance of his favorite karaoke song (Party Crowd by David Lee Murphy) with the live band for the entire family. Will's performance the entire week sealed the deal for Taylor and won over the family. From there Will and Taylor headed up to Seattle to meet Will's sister and her family. Between that trip and the annual holiday festivities in the Caironi household, Taylor put forth her best effort to not only win over the Caironis, but their close family friends the Russells as well! Across the past 2+ years together, Taylor and Will have truly bonded over a love for Family, Friends and Travel. Outside of their domestic travels, they've explored Italy, Spain, Thailand and Singapore with Cyprus & Greece next on the list!
As is well documented on Taylor’s Instagram, Will and Taylor love to travel. Will credits Taylor with giving him the travel bug, leading to many of their favorite memories together while they were dating. Will knew that when he FINALLY proposed, he needed to plan a trip because that’s what she’d want. Unfortunately for Will, Taylor was immediately suspicious the second Will started planning anything, because he'd never really done it before…Will persevered through all the questioning as best he could but was pretty sure Taylor knew it was coming. Will took Taylor on another quick weekend trip to Turks & Caicos, and let the resort know his plan so they could help him line up a photographer to capture the moment. Fortunately and unfortunately, the hotel decided to surprise upgrade the couple to a penthouse suite. This of course tipped off Taylor EVEN MORE that a proposal was coming…Will continued to persevere. The plan was for Will to get Taylor to the beach at 5PM and the photographer would meet them there. Of course it started pouring rain at exactly 5PM…but Will made it happen. He and the photographer stalled as best they could until there was a point where the rain let up briefly, the photographer gave Will the signal, and Will hit a knee so fast. Neither of them remember exactly what he said, other than him talking about her family in some context. Whatever he said, Taylor cried, so that's good. We’re sure it was poetic though.
