If you are reading this, you are most likely one of our friends or part of our very large family, waiting for the long awaited invite to our wedding, but Dan and I have never been that simple. After a lot of back and forth, thoughts of crazy Bend wedding parties with food trucks and mountain biking and crowds of our favorite people, we finally came to a decision. Dan and I decided to have the wedding we’re always dreamed of--simple, tiny, and at 10,000 ft (ok, one of those dreams might have been just mine). On Saturday, July 18th, we had a ceremony in the middle of The Tetons with only our immediate family members, followed by a quiet dinner with just those people. Over the last two years, our families have gotten so much bigger (congrats for all the little ones, the engagements, and the weddings!), so much more spread out, and so much busier. With the finances from grad school, the distance required for so many to travel, and the small window of time we had (athletics is a beautiful, yet deadly thing), the little faux elopement made so much sense. To all of our wonderful friends, we will definitely be seeing you (but most likely while hiking or mountain biking) and to all of our wonderful family, we definitely have enough planned to see each other! All of you have been so important in our lives and we know you will all be there in spirit on top of that mountain. We are excited to spend time together over the next few years with each and every one of you. Love, Mrs. Oekerman
