Due to COVID

Due to Covid, our special day will be a little smaller than we would have hoped. We are so sorry to those who we will not be able to celebrate with, but look forward to the day we can all get together again. For our guests who are attending, please make sure to bring a face covering per the venue's request. A face covering is not optional and can be removed only when eating and drinking. We look forward to celebrating with you all!

21st Century

Steven and Taylor Ann met in college, in 2016. He had transferred in his junior year to play baseball at Shorter University, where Taylor was playing softball. Like any other (small) University, Shorter had “get togethers” on the weekends. It just so happened that the softball and baseball team liked each other’s company. Earlier that month Taylor joined a sorority, which many of her friends who really knew her were so confused and weirded out. She had been going through some personal battles with her love for softball and the Lord led her down a different path for a short while. Needless to say, this sorority was having their formal and with it being so last minute, Taylor was going to attend by herself. However, for some reason at a get together the night before the formal, as we were leaving Taylor jokingly yelled out, “well if anyone wants to come with me to my formal feel free.” That’s when Steven and another guy said they’d go; of course Taylor only heard Steven. It only took that night of formal to create the biggest crush Taylor had ever had. Well after formal Steven and Taylor kept in touch and she can’t speak for him, but Taylor was nervous. Like really nervous. She hadn’t had feelings or liked anyone in what seemed like forever and she didn’t know how to act, go about things, or even reply to text messages. So she did what any 20 year-old female in 2016 would do and tweeted. Yes, she tweeted her feelings. On April 4, 2016 she tweeted, “When you really like someone but don’t know how to go about it because it’s been a while ...😒” Well Taylor and her friend Hannah, were going to a concert that weekend and Steven was coming with our group of friends. Little did she know his teammate showed him her tweet and that night Steven confessed he saw her tweet. Talk about her heart dropping to her stomach and feeling very embarrassed, but Taylor is thankful for that tweet because had she not tweeted Steven and Taylor may have never started dating.

The Proposal

It was February 27, 2018, Taylor and Steven were at Harvest Moon Cafe celebrating their 1.5 year anniversary. This day held a lot of meaning from the start; it was on this day in 2017 that Taylor Ann had surrendered her life to Christ. Little did she know this day would have more meaning after this night. “While at dinner, now that I think back Steven was really nervous, but it was a delicious dinner.” – Taylor Ann After dinner, Taylor really wanted to go next door to the bakery and get gelato; Steven didn't seem to excited which was also not like him to turn down dessert, so Taylor changed her mind. Well where they live there is a walking bridge with an American flag that lights up at night; they called it the lock bridge. For obvious reasons, it is a bridge couples like to put a lock on. Well Steven said he had bought a lock and wanted to put it on the bridge, also unlike him. So they pulled into the parking lot and started walking towards a spot on the bridge. As they were walking Taylor started to hear giggles and footsteps, so she turned to look out of curiosity and at first, she thought nothing of it, but she kept looking at the girls on the bridge behind her and Steven. She thought they looked familiar. So Taylor turned to Steven and told him that it looked a lot like her teammates; he ignored her, which was actually kind of normal haha. So she ignored it and watched him begin to write his initials on the lock, meanwhile she was still looking back at the girls on the bridge. Well, Taylor turns around one last time to look at the lock and he had started to write her initials. However, instead of writing T.O. he wrote T.M. Taylor was SO confused. That's when he told her this was where he wanted to bring their kids to show them where they decided to spend the rest of their lives together. Then he dropped to one knee and asked Taylor if she would marry him. Taylor kept saying, "stop, oh my gosh, no stop" but in the end, of course, her answer was yes.
