While visiting Yann’s hometown in France for Christmas, what began as a simple holiday tradition quietly became the most unforgettable day of our lives. Earlier that afternoon, Yann surprised Taylor with a hair styling appointment, a thoughtful touch that felt special, though its meaning wasn’t yet clear. Shortly after returning, Yann suggested they get ready for drinks at a nearby château close to where they were staying in Brive-la-Gaillarde. Upon arrival, the Château de Castel Novel glowed softly in the December night, romantic and timeless. We were guided through the château and into a more intimate back room, tucked away and beautifully decorated. Once seated, Yann suggested ordering champagne. Taylor smiled, completely unaware that it was already on its way. Moments later, Yann got down on one knee, and asked Taylor to marry him. Time seemed to stand still.
