Welcome to our Happily Ever After

I had just graduated nursing school. I was literally getting home from walking the stage when Tyler showed up at my little house to hang out for the first time. It was 100 degrees on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Tyler showed up in a sweater vest! He said he wanted to look nice. We talked all night long. In the middle of chatting, I said, "You know, you could kiss me if you wanted to!" Tyler declined. He did however stay at my house that night because he "doesn't see well enough to drive at night." All I could think was I hope he doesn't steal my tv!

So Tyler told me we could go anywhere we want on our first date. Me, being a creature of habit, picks Texas Road House. If you didn't know, I worked at a Texas Road House for five years, and have practically spent every birthday and celebration there since the one in Horn Lake opened. It's a family affair, really. So we picked Texas Road House (except the one on the coast of course). Tyler showed up that night at my house with twelve long stem red roses. I wasn't even ready, and he patiently waited for me to finish my makeup. I don't remember what we ate, or much of what we talked about really. I do remember being completely and utterly smitten, and just hoping that this lasts. And we've literally been together ever since.

So I had picked out the perfect rose gold engagement ring months before our Disney trip in December of 2018. I had even told Tyler specifics of how I wanted to be proposed to in Disney, as if he needed such a major hint. Well our vacation days in Disney World went by, and no ring. I figured probably not this trip anyway. The next to last day we are there, we went to Akershus which if you're not a Disney fan is a swedish restaurant. We were there for breakfast with the princesses, you know, because I'm five. In the middle of our meal, Belle from Beauty and the Beast comes to our table and says that our "portraits were messed up" and can we "redo them". Okay. That's weird. She held my hand so excitedly the whole walk to the photo station that I was like, something is definitely up. I turn the corner to find my very own prince, standing with a ring box. He got down on one knee, I started bawling and shaking my head yes before he ever even said anything. I think he got out, "I love you a lot, I want to spend forever with you. Will you marry me?" I just cried and nodded and held out my finger. Then pointed to which finger it specifically was. The most magical day of my whole life with my very own fairy tale ending with my prince!
