Our paths crossed for the first time at Compass Airlines. A very small regional airline where Steven had started his first Flight Dispatcher job. I was working in another department, Crew Scheduling, where our workstations were conveniently across the room from each other, and sparks flew instantly. One memorable day, a colleague jokingly asked me how much an engagement ring would need to cost for me to accept a proposal. I playfully responded with a figure of $10,000 or more, only to have Steven interject from his desk asking "wait, how much?" The whole room burst out in laughter, teasing Steven about his supposed work crush. Not long after, we went on our first date and now here we are many years later. Neither of us were originally from Minnesota, and Compass Airlines no longer operates. But we are forever thankful for that small office in the frozen tundra that brought us together.
