Taylor and Sona met in the lobby of the EastSeven Berlin Hostel on March 12, 2018 for their hostel pub crawl. They quickly bonded over being from two states that no one knew much about, and this conversation must've left an impression because they kept finding their way to each other throughout the night. By the time the group moved on to the next spot, they'd decided to skip the rest of the crawl and explore on their own instead. Through the power of Facebook Messenger video calls and basic economy flights between Los Angeles and Austin, Sona and Taylor made it official in September 2019. The rest, as they say, is history.

Redfish has been central to Taylor and Sona's love story since the start of their annual backpacking trips. Every summer, they take an epic boat ride across Redfish Lake and disappear into the Sawtooths for a weekend. In August 2025, they got engaged here. A year later, they're returning to say their vows in the same place. They can't wait to celebrate with their favorite people in their favorite place!
