Like all great modern love stories, ours began on Hinge—right as Taylor had just moved from San Francisco. New city, new chapter...and new boyfriend. Scott and Taylor’s first date started at a Mediterranean restaurant, where they ordered hummus and a glass of wine—and then completely forgot about the food because they were too busy talking. In fact, they only left because they had a reservation for “Exploratorium After Dark." This after dark sounded cooler in theory than in reality, but luckily there was beer involved. They spent the evening laughing at the exhibits—and themselves—and realized they could have fun anywhere, even in the dorkiest situations. By the third date, things got serious. Scott met Frankie. Frankie, being both adorable and an excellent judge of character, approved immediately—which made Taylor’s decision to keep Scott around much easier. That same day also began their very competitive mini golf rivalry. Scott won the first game and briefly thought he was the better golfer—until Taylor quickly proved otherwise. The official tally now has Taylor far in the lead, and Scott is still hoping for a comeback. From there, they were inseparable, never going more than a few days without seeing each other despite living in different cities. Between weekly trivia in Menlo Park, weekends in San Francisco, and lots of commuting, they built a life together. A year later, they moved in together and now live in San Francisco with Frankie, spending their time at trivia nights, breweries, mini golf courses, and walking many hills. This New Year’s Eve, they’re so excited to host all of their favorite people in the city they now call home—and celebrate the next chapter together.
