Attached under "View" is a link to a map of all the vineyards on the Monticello Wine Trail. Barboursville Vineyard and Keswick Vineyard are two close options that we recommend. Guests staying at The Inn at Willow Grove will have access to complimentary tasting passes and special discounts at these two vineyards, as well as others listed on the Inn's website. If you are willing to travel a little further to Charlottesville, we highly recommend King Family Vineyards, Veritas Vineyard & Winery, Afton Mountain Vineyards (for the view), and Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards. The drive is WORTH it and all of the vineyards we listed have inside spaces to keep warm while still enjoying the outside views. You can easily make an entire weekend out of visiting these gorgeous vineyards.
Located only 19 miles from accommodations and right across the street from Keswick Vineyards is Castle Hill Cider. Warm yourself by the fire in the tasting room as you sip their artisan-made cider. Complimentary tasting passes and special discounts are available for guests staying at The Inn at Willow Grove- just ask the front desk!
For those of you who prefer brews, hop on over to Bald Top Brewing Co. in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This brewery is a short 13 miles from accommodations. Check website for hours
Shenandoah National Park is a land bursting with cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, fields of wildflowers, and quiet wooded hollows. With over 200,000 acres of protected lands that are haven to deer, songbirds, and black bear, there's so much to explore. Old Rag Mountain hike, one of the most popular hikes in the mid-Atlantic region, is 29 miles from accommodations.
Covered driving range and mini golf (outside)
Yes we know it is January, but for those who still like to play golf in the cold (my dad), this 9 hole course is open year round and a short drive from accommodations
We recommend the Light Well and Forked on Main for guests who may be in town early and looking for lunch options
