Chautauqua Trailhead is a great place for hiking the Boulder Flatirons, which offer spectacular, rugged routes like the iconic First and Second Flatiron Loop. This popular 2.6 to 3.3-mile out-and-back trail features roughly 1,466 feet of elevation gain. The final stretch requires steep, rocky scrambling to reach a stunning saddle between the majestic rock slabs. However, for those looking for something less intense, this is also an amazing place to see the flatirons, take pictures, and walk around. Boulder Falls is a waterfall directly connected to Boulder Creek, dropping 70 feet over a steep, rocky gorge. Located just 9 miles west of downtown Boulder, it is easily accessible off Highway 119 via a brief 100-yard walk from the roadside parking area. Getting there: Boulder Falls is located 11 miles west of Boulder, on the north side of Boulder Canyon Drive (SR 119) between Boulder and Nederland. There is no trailhead for Boulder Falls, but there is a parking area across Highway 119/Boulder Canyon Drive from the falls.
The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse is the only authentic Persian teahouse in the Western Hemisphere. The construction of the building was created completely by hand by 40 artisans in Tajikistan. The outside of the building features hand-carved cedar columns and intricate ceramic tiles depicting the traditional Persian "Tree of Life", while the interior is covered in colorful, hand-carved, and hand-painted Persian designs. The teahouse offers globally inspired international cuisine for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.
