All wedding activities are taking place on our venue at Camp Colton. It is a beautiful sprawling property that is an old summer camp now converted to a wedding venue. It is nestled into the edge of the Mt. Hood National Forest. We will be both indoors and out throughout the days festivities. Once you arrive at camp, everything is within walking distance.
For your convenience, we have reserved a shuttle that will depart from The Lake Shore Inn and transport guests to our venue. This shuttle will also transport guests back at the end of the night. You do not need to be staying at the the Lake Shore Inn to take advantage of this shuttle. For the guests not staying at the Lake Shore Inn, we recommend utilizing this shuttle service as it is hard to hail Lyft/Ubers from Camp Colton. The shuttle will be departing from the Lake Shore Inn at 2:45pm and arriving to the venue at roughly 3:45pm. At the end of the night, the shuttle will be leaving Camp Colton at 10:30pm and returning to the Lake Shore Inn at rough 11:15-11:30pm.
We have a reserved hotel block at the Lake Shore Inn located in Lake Oswego OR for out of town guests. Lake Shore Inn 210 North State Street Lake Oswego, OR 97034 (503) 636-9679 Please mention the Thompson wedding for the June 24th, 2023 weekend to utilize our hotel block and group room rate. In order to access our group rate, you must call the motel for booking.
The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies- think cocktail or fun floral dresses. Guys- think suit or slacks and a button up shirt. The ground of much of the venue is natural forest floor, it may be helpful to keep this in mind for shoe choice and/or long dresses. A jacket, or warmer layer for the evening may be nice, as the evenings tend to cool off!
June is always a challenging month in Oregon to predict the weather. Late June average temperatures show a high of 75 degrees and low of 60 degrees. I would expect warm weather during the ceremony and slowly cooling off into the evening. Our ceremony and venue will have both indoor and outdoor areas so we will still boogy down regardless of the weather!
All festivities will be outdoors except for dinner which will take place in the Gathering Hall. All of this is of course, weather permitting.
There will be a cocktail hour after our reception, where appetizers, signature cocktails, beer, wine and seltzers will be served. Following will be a family style dinner including some of the bride and grooms favorite dishes.
Throughout the entire wedding we will be serving complimentary beer, wine and seltzers. During the cocktail hour we will be offering two signature cocktails. Once the cocktails run out, only beer and wine will be available.
There is a parking lot at Camp Colton with plenty of parking spaces available. Please note it is roughly an hour drive from Portland. If you plan to drink at the wedding, we highly suggest you take the provided shuttle in lieu of drinking and driving.
The ceremony will be starting at 4:00pm. If you are taking the shuttle, it will be arriving roughly 20 minutes. If you plan to drive yourself, please aim to arrive to Camp Colton at least 20 minutes early as well.
Our wedding is strictly RSVP only, we can only accommodate those listed on your invitation.
Unfortunately due to space limitations, we are having an adults-only reception. If anyone needs help with making arrangements for child care, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.
