It all started with a conversation about Mad Men by the soup and salad line. Then after a mixtape, California beach times, and some Kendrick Lamar karaoke the two knew their fate was sealed.
Nathan decided on the highest degree of difficulty possible. After convincing Taylor we were going to have a nice Kansas City date night, the two arrived at the Liberty Memorial. Just before 7, Nathan found a park bench and busted out our favorite snack, meats and cheeses. Right after we finished the snack and Nathan prepared to get on a knee, fireworks erupted to the right of the beautiful downtown city skyline. Nathan is a romantic and even though he would like to take the credit, the timing of the fireworks was merely a coincidence. After the fireworks, and a police car surveying the park, Nathan got on one knee, said sweet words, and asked Taylor if she would marry him. After she said yes (THANKFULLY), Nathan told Taylor we were going to the place we met, Houlihans, to have a drink with one of our best friends. As we walked in, Nathan told Taylor, to look to her right. When Taylor turned her head she discovered both of their families were waiting for them. The Mithelmans after being the best secret keepers the previous day which happened to be Thanksgiving had driven 3 plus hours to surprise her along with Nathan's family, their closest friends, and the staff of the restaurant where they met. There were many hugs, pictures, some tears, some champagne, and ooh's and ah's at the ring.
