We met the old-fashioned way… The kind of night when the ladies are out for karaoke and the guys are out to do whatever it is that they do best! We never saw it coming and we never hit the brakes! Prior to this moment, neither of us had ever seen nor heard of one another before which quite honestly is rare in a “small town”. One of us was training and leaving for the military in 4 months, the other was traveling and welding across the East coast; neither had any intention of falling in love. The 11th of August 2018, we both made a choice to go celebrate with friends at the Lakeview District –- in the most magical city of all time, Birmingham, Alabama! Coincidently, both of our groups of friends had the same favorite hangout; short story, we spotted each other from across the crowed room (dreamy…perhaps awkward) all I know is he was rocking red swim trunks and I was wearing my cropped white tee-shirt (no bbq stain!) & after that first “hey, what’s your name?” ….. we shared our stories and danced the night away until they kicked us out! And we lived happily Hines ever after!
After that evening of the night we first met, we called, we texted, we would video chat every chance we could, we flew from state to state….and a long four months later we began dating! We knew we had something worth holding onto and on our 2nd anniversary, he proposed to me in front of our intimate family circle under the most smashing pink dogwood tree! Back to coincidences, “coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous”. God has an immensely greater plan for us, for our love toward one another, and for our future together. We are so grateful for the very moment we met, and the intentional plan designed just for the two of us. It’s been a rollercoaster and we can’t wait for the next ride!
