Mason moved from Boise, Idaho to Roswell, Georgia, to help his grandfather Al's church with community groups and worship. A few months later, Taylor came home from a year on the mission field. Al hired her to be the kids ministry director and Taylor began working at Woodstock Church Shallowford. Taylor sat in the back row and Mason came and sat next to her. They did not talk the whole service, but when Al asked everyone to take home poinsettias to pass out to their neighbors and invite them to the Christmas Eve service, Mason took that opportunity to spend more time with Taylor. He helped her carry the poinsettias to her car and a few days later he called and asked her to go to dinner with him. They closed down the restaurant talking for hours. They shared their testimonies with each other and talked about their families, what it was like growing up, and how they want to serve God in the US and abroad. They both left that night knowing God was writing a beautiful story. They began dating and a few months later Mason felt God calling him back to Boise to lead worship at his home church. They began doing long distance, and a few months later on a weekend trip to New Orleans, Mason proposed!
