FAQs

Question

What is the closest airport to Ravello?

Answer

The wedding and welcome event the day before the wedding are both located in Ravello. Naples International Airport (NAP) is the most convenient option, approximately 1 hour from Ravello. From Naples you can arrange a private transfer, take a train to Salerno (and then bus), or rent a car. Rome Fiumicino (FCO) is a secondary option if you are flying internationally with limited direct routes, about 3 hours away.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

We recommend against it, unless you are very comfortable driving in new places. The Amalfi Coast roads are narrow, steep, and traffic can be intense in summer. Private transfers or the local SITA bus service between Amalfi and Ravello are much more relaxing options. If you want to explore the region, consider hiring a driver for day trips.

Question

How do I get from Naples airport to Ravello?

Answer

The easiest route is a private transfer directly to Ravello (roughly 60–90 minutes depending on traffic). Alternatively, take the Circumvesuviana train to Vietri sul Mare or Salerno, then a ferry or bus to Amalfi, then the SITA bus up to Ravello. We recommend booking transfers in advance during peak summer season.

Question

Where should guests stay?

Answer

We have recommendations listed for hotels in Ravello — details on the Travel page. There are also wonderful options along the coast in Amalfi, Positano, and Minori at a range of price points. Staying in Ravello itself means you can walk to the venue and enjoy the town in the evenings. Please contact our recommended travel agent, Kelly, if you would like assistance booking your hotels for the wedding and the rest of your Italy travel.

Question

How far in advance should I book accomodations?

Answer

As soon as possible! The Amalfi Coast is extremely popular in early summer and rooms sell out quickly — especially in Ravello itself. We recommend booking at least 6–9 months in advance. If you are having trouble finding availability, reach out to us and we can suggest alternatives.

Question

What is the wedding day dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. Think elegant summer dresses, linen suits, or dressy separates. Colors of the Amalfi coast recommended. The cobblestone streets of Ravello are beautiful but uneven. We strongly recommend block heels or stylish flats over stilettos. Please avoid white and ivory out of respect for the bride.

Question

Will the wedding be outdoors?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors with stunning views over the Tyrrhenian Sea. We will have a weather contingency plan in place. May in Ravello is typically warm and dry, but we recommend bringing a light wrap for the evening as it can cool down after sunset.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

TBD

Question

What if i have a dietary restriction?

Answer

Please note any dietary restrictions or allergies on your RSVP. Our venue is well-equipped to handle vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other needs. The more notice we have, the better we can ensure everyone is taken care of.

Question

What else should we do while we are in the area?

Answer

So much! Day trips to Positano, Capri, Pompeii, and the island of Ischia are all easy from Ravello. In Ravello itself, don't miss Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. The coastal ferry from Amalfi is a beautiful way to explore.

Question

Any tips for traveling to Italy in May?

Answer

May is peak season so book everything (restaurants, ferries, excursions) well in advance. May is a wonderful time to visit the Amalfi Coast — the weather is warm but not yet the most intense heat of peak summer, the crowds are smaller, and everything is lush and green. Book restaurants and ferries in advance as the coast gets busier by the week through spring. The sea may still be a little cool for swimming but the hiking trails, gardens, and clifftop villages are absolutely at their best. Pack layers for the evenings as temperatures can drop once the sun goes down. Most importantly, slow down and soak it all in. This is Italy at its most magical. Stay hydrated, pack sunscreen, and embrace the Italian pace of life. Most importantly, do not rush. This is a trip to savor!
