We love this gorgeous farm-to-table spot for brunch on Saturdays. They also do a weekly dinner on Friday evenings that is always incredible.
While Taylor hates going to Buc-ee’s, she understands the appeal for others: fresh snacks, clean bathrooms, and lots to look at and buy! If you’re driving through this way, you may want to stop here.
There are tons of great parks and hiking trails in Houston, and this is one of our favorites. There are trails for hiking as well as open green spaces for relaxing. This is also right near the zoo!
There’s so much to do in this part of Houston— lots of amazing food, shopping, and scenic walking! Kevin says start with Yale St.
This is one of our favorite restaurants for fresh and delicious food every single time— they have several locations, including one in the Heights!
This area has lots of restaurants and activities like shopping— Uptown Park specifically. There are also some fancy neighborhoods to drive through if you’re interested in that!
Right near Rice University campus, as well as the Sam Houston monument, this park has a beautiful Japanese Garden which we have enjoyed visiting. All of this is within walking distance of nearby museums, so you can take full advantage of whatever parking you find.
We frequent this area for its restaurants to avoid heading into the city. We like Ambriza for Mexican (their margaritas and molotes de plátano appetizer are amazing). Taisho is our go-to hibachi spot, and Union Kitchen has delicious upscale American food & global cuisine.
Taylor’s parents want to come here every time they’re in Houston (for good reason & we all agree). Their food, drinks, and service are excellent.
Home of the Astros, but we have also enjoyed a couple LSU baseball games here.
This park features that famous view of the Houston skyline and has an underground cistern with tons of columns and a long echo— a neat & quick visit, if it piques your interest!
This is an exhibit in the Museum of Natural Science and is such a fun and unique experience. If you like butterflies, it’s a must— there’s also a ginormous iguana! :)
We go here all the time for the best bagels around & friendly service.
There are lots of great stores at these outlets if you need to do any shopping!
