Joe was a goalie on our high schools' hockey team and Taylor happened to be a huge hockey fan. She went to one of their games with a friend who knew Joe from school- two big hockey fans, one very helpful mutual connection (Thanks Emily!). The next day, Taylor received a Twitter DM (yes, we know… very 2015) from a guy named Joe. They casually messaged for days, mostly because Joe was definitely too nervous to ask for Taylor’s number. Eventually, Taylor suggested they move the conversation to texting-thank goodness. Their first unofficial date was ice skating. But it wasn't until a surprise Christmas gift arrived on Taylor's porch Christmas morning (a wrapped box of Cheez-Its, Taylor's favorite), that an official first-date would transpire, and they went to a Columbus Blue Jackets game. We started dating at 17, which means we’ve basically grown up together. Fast forward 10 years and we’re now going on 27, with a whole lot of life in between. Those years included long-distance stints while Joe played hockey, going to colleges in different states, Taylor moving to Florida (twice), an impressive number of Disney trips, countless hockey games and concerts, and making incredible friends along the way. We also became dog parents to our two-year-old mini goldendoodle, Luca, who is very aware he’s the favorite. We’re finally making it official and can't wait to celebrate with you!
