While your hellions... I mean... little ones are precious, we are having an adults-only wedding ceremony. That being said, you are welcome to bring your kiddos to the resort and have a family vacation. The resort we have chosen offers child daycare with options for babysitting.
Brittany Schiffler is our wonderful travel planner, an expert on destination weddings in Mexico. She has handled another wedding in the family, so we know she knows her stuff. She has helped us choose our resort and will help you with your arrangements as well. If you have questions on what to expect traveling to a destination wedding in Mexico, she is an excellent resource!
We’re getting married in Mexico in the summer, so yes, it’s going to be warm. Please dress for the weather, not for a board meeting. Think lightweight, breathable, festive, and fun: sundresses, breezy jumpsuits, linen shirts, fun prints, nice sandals. Somewhere between “poolside cocktail hour” and “I’m not wearing a tie, but I still look good.” we want you cool, comfortable, and ready to dance. What if my outfit has white in it?!?!....... It's all good. As long as you aren't rocking a fully or majority white outfit, then no one should confuse you with the bride.
Q: Do I get a plus-one? A: If you’re married, congrats, you automatically get a plus-one (aka your legally-bound adventure buddy). Q: What if I’m not married? Can I bring my "person," "situation," or "Hinge success story"? A: Maybe! Due to space limitations at our resort, not everyone can bring a plus-one to the ceremony. Check your invitation when it arrives. If you’ve got a "+1" with your name on it, you’re good to go. If not, please know it’s not personal, it’s just resort math. Q: But what if I fall in love between now and the wedding?! A: First of all, wow, that’s fast. Secondly, while we’re thrilled for you, we unfortunately can’t make last-minute room. Q: Can I appeal the plus-one policy? A: Only if you submit a 3-minute musical number explaining your case.... Or you are welcome to invite them to Mexico to stay with you to eat and drink poolside while you rock-out at our wedding.
We have a room block at the Hyatt Ziva PV booked. You should have received an e-mail from Brittany with the details on booking a room through her. If you have not received that email, please reach out to the bride or groom. Details on how to get from the airport in Mexico to the hotel will also be provided in the e-mail. We recommend booking your flights several months in advance to ensure the best price and availability.
If you made it all the way down in our FAQ section, then as a special treat, you get a sneak preview of the soft launch of our new last name Pace! We wanted something that symbolized balance, unity, and the life we’re building together. Welch and Perman are both parts of our story and our families, and we wanted our new name to honor that while also marking this next chapter as our own. After some creative mixing (and a few laughs along the way), we landed on Pace, a word that beautifully captures how we move through the world together: with intention, steady love, and partnership. To us, Pace represents finding our rhythm walking side by side, growing at our own speed, and building a life that feels just right for us. It’s a simple name with a deep meaning: a reflection of the calm, constant, and loving pace we want to keep for the rest of our lives.
Safe and reliable round trip ground transportation between the PVR airport and Hyatt Ziva Resort is $58 per person. Transportation will be arranged approx. 3 weeks prior to the wedding trip. Brittany will be requesting your flight itinerary from you in early July to arrange your pickup at the airport and your transfer back to the airport. Round trip transfers are between the airport and hotel. If you are transferring to another resort before or after your stay at Hyatt Ziva, separate private transfers can be arranged for an additional fee. If you would like to arrange your own transportation to the resort, that is allowed, but please ensure you are using a safe and reliable company and not utilizing a taxi service.
Since there will likely be flight schedule changes between now and then, flight information will be collected closer to the wedding dates. This allows us to receive the most up to date flight information without the guest having to resend their itinerary every time there is a change to their flight schedule.
