Taylor sat in the front, John sat in the back. Who knew that a classroom management graduate course at Sage College would change their lives forever? After a semester of polite conversation and light competition, John was determined to ask Taylor on a date on the last day of classes. John, being oblivious, didn't see Taylor lingering to leave on that last day, as he thought there was one more week's worth of classes. Realizing his mistake, he rushed out of the classroom to try and catch up with Taylor as she was leaving. The two of them were alone in the hallway, John knew it was now or never and said "I think you're funny and we would get along really well. Would you like to go out sometime?" To both of their delight, Taylor responded with an enthusiastic "Yes!" and the rest is history. That balcony where they first met will forever be a special place in their hearts, as it marked the start of the rest of their lives.

One thing about Taylor is that nothing gets by her. She is nothing if not observant and detail-oriented. It's very difficult to surprise her. John took this as a challenge. On a cold day in February, John had rented an Airbnb in Saratoga and invited all of their family members to share the surprise. Under the guise of going to a party for a friend, John and Taylor walked into the house only to be greeted by their parents. An emotional and surprising proposal, Taylor said yes surrounded by family. The evening was filled with laughter, love, and tears of joy. A night made possible by both families and a few friends coming together to celebrate.
