Our Story

It started on a humid Monday night in August 2022, in a fluorescently lit side room of a Lutheran Church off Seminary Avenue. Jennings had been circling that same meeting for three weeks, working up the nerve to finally walk in. When he did, he glanced two rows ahead and saw the most beautiful eyes he'd ever seen — belonging to a punk rock goddess who was clearly, obviously, way out of his league. He didn't say a word to her for weeks. When he finally did, Taylor didn't miss a beat: "That's a rich kid name. You went to one of those fancy private schools, didn't you?" He nervously nodded and walked into the church. A strong start. Despite that introduction, Jennings told everyone who would listen about this woman he'd barely spoken to. The crush came into full bloom at Taylor's surprise birthday party that December at Dave & Buster's in White Marsh. Somehow, both of them ended up at the coin pusher — that beautiful, chaotic machine where you gamble tokens hoping the pile tips over the edge. They played side by side for an embarrassing amount of time. He was pretty sure he'd met his match. From there, things moved the way good things do — texting turned into late-night movie invitations, and somewhere during an Austin Powers rewatch, Jennings did his Dr. Evil impression and apparently sealed the deal. They made it official on January 25th, 2023. Taylor later wrote it in a Christmas card — dated "Jan. 27th... but really Dec. 25th, whoops" — that read: "Jan. 25th you told me you loved me. Don't forget it. xoxo – your gf, mwah" He hasn't forgotten. In the years that followed, they became each other's person — the one you can't imagine the future without. In the spring of 2024, they moved into a townhouse together (a little close to York Road, but home). That chapter brought joy and grief in the same breath. They were devastated by the loss of Taylor's mother, Terri — tenacious, loving, and unconditionally supportive to the end. She is in their thoughts every day. They love her very much. ♥ As Scott Galloway writes, "Grief is the price we pay for love, a testament to the depth of our connection." In grief, they found that depth — and it only brought them closer. In October 2024, Jennings took a detour on his way home from a work trip to pick up Taylor's sister Madison in Topsail, NC — too pregnant to make the seven-hour drive to Maryland herself. He pulled into the driveway and Madison met him holding a small blue jewelry box. Inside was a sapphire and diamond ring — the one Taylor's stepfather John had used to propose to Terri. He knew he had the perfect ring. Now he needed the perfect moment. He disguised the plan behind his love of video games: a trip to Cologne, Germany in August 2025 for Gamescom, followed by Copenhagen — where he had studied abroad in 2019. In front of Rosenborg Castle, with a photographer waiting nearby, he got down on one knee. Taylor said yes. Since January 25th, 2023, through every high and hard thing, they've been a team. And as a team, they've learned, they can get through anything. You've been part of that team. They can't wait to celebrate with you on August 8th, 2026.
