Jay and Tay met in 2018 at The Faison Center, a school for students with Autism. Taylor's coworker in the life skills department Sarah, mentioned that her and Jay would get along well. She introduced them to each other and that was the beginning of it all.

On their 5th year anniversary, Jay took Tay to Rockets Landing to walk the canal trail before their dinner reservations at The Boat House. On their walk they ran into Jays cousin Tyreak, who happened to have his professional camera with him. He told them he was taking scenic shots. Taylor asked Tyreak if he could take a picture of them for their 5th year anniversary. They walked up towards the water with the most beautiful view of the city. As they were walking, Jay started to mumble nervously. Taylor turned around to check on him and there he was, on one knee asking her if she’d do life with him. That was the easiest yes she’s ever said! The sound of cheers came from the balcony of The Boat House. They looked up, and there were their family and friends cheering them on in excitement. BEST DAY EVER!
