We first met in our D1 year of Dental School at what was then known as the UNC School of Dentistry. Our first encounter happened to be a shag dancing lesson the first week of classes in August 2018. Jamie left a thorough impression by proceeding to repeatedly step on Taylor's toes. Despite this first interaction, we continued to have multiple meet-cutes over the next four years. It was apparent there was a connection, but the timing was never quite right. After some late nights in Chapel Hill Taylor told her friends "Jamie's a cool dude, we should hang out with him more". Eventually we started running a community outreach dental clinic together. Jamie always made it a point to do the gross cleaning tasks involved with running the clinic and lifting the heavy equipment all so Taylor didn't have to. All of this withstanding, we would have to wait until after a global pandemic for us to connect for real. Fast forward to February 10, 2022, our first dental class function post COVID. We got to talking over free beer and basically haven't stopped since then. Graduation came and went and with it so did new adventures. During a wild roadtrip covering 3,000 miles of the NorthEast, Jamie finally asked Taylor to be his girlfriend on May 20, 2022 while overlooking the blue waters of Katama Beach on Martha's Vineyard (there continues to be much speculation as to the necessity of this event as we had already been practically inseparable for 99 days). Even over a year of long distance (1800 miles and one time zone to be exact with several missed connections and nights spent sleeping in the airport) couldn't keep us apart. We both knew we had found our person and have made so many memories and done and seen so many things since. After a perfect day of hiking in the blue ridge mountains Jamie decided to propose at Triple Falls in Asheville, NC. We are so excited to embark on this next adventure together.
