After the summer of 2017, I was headed back to Minnesota to start another year of schooling at the St. Cloud Technical college. I remember telling my mom that I wanted to look nice the first day of school because you never know who you're going to meet (seriously). While both of us were waiting in line for financial aid, Jake turned around and decided to spark up a conversation and compliment me on my shirt. After being pulled different directions for help with financial aid, I was leaving the college and I hear someone yell, "Hey Herberger's!" from the front door to look back and find Jake speed walking towards me. (He could not remember my name but remembered that I bought my shirt from Herberger's, lol). He walked me to my car and gave me his first and last name (not his number) and decided to let me find him if I really wanted to. Well, I sure did, and we had a date 2 days later. Here we are now!
We had just gotten back from a trip to San Francisco. In all honesty, I was so prepared for it to happen in California (which is exactly why Jake didn't do it, lol). The day after we got back, Jake had somehow convinced me that since I had two weeks off from school left that I should get my nails done again. Afterwards, he pulled the, "Hey, we've been eating like crap for a week, let's go to Olive Garden and get a nice meal!" So we did! After dinner on our way home, we stopped by a pond near our apartment and Jake asks if I wanted to go for a walk. Still completely oblivious, because Jake does these little random things all the time, we took a walk and sat down on a bench swing where Jake had asked me to be his forever. He absolutely managed to pull off an entire surprise where and when I least expected it!
