Apparently we met on Jake's first day of chiropractic school...but from that day he knew we would end up together. For the next four months, Jake played the long game. He went out of his way to ask Taylor how her day was, ask her how her exam went. Anything to bump into her in the hallway. Taylor was none the wiser. On February 22, 2020, Taylor was at a party with Jake's friend Brooke and said "you know who is really cute in your class?". Brooke responded "it's Jake isn't it? He's been standing outside of your classroom for months to ask you how your day is! He is in love with you!" They then discussed her asking Jake out for a cup of coffee. Taylor messaged Jake on instagram "do you like coffee?". Jake responded many hours later after getting home from the bar "coffee is life." Our first date lasted 4 hours and included a vanilla latte with sprinkles for Jake, a black coffee for Taylor, and a few beers to settle us after all of the coffee. Taylor went home and told her roommate she was IN LOVE. Right after our first date, rona shut down the country. Chiropractic school went online, so we got to spend everyday together until the world started back up. Over the next 4 years, we've enjoyed many hikes, adventured all over the country, adopted a dog or two, watched New Girl, drank lots of craft beer and great wine, moved to a new city, and dreamt up our future chiropractic practice. Jake proposed on March 4th, 2023 at our favorite winery, Mountain Brook, in North Carolina. Taylor was absolutely shocked and almost ruined her own proposal with stubbornness alone. She reallllyyyyyyyy didn't want to take sunset photos! Since then, we've moved to Charleston, opened up our thriving business, explored our new home, and planned the dreamiest wedding. We are so excited and grateful for all of you that have chosen to celebrate with us, coming from near and far!
