About the bride and groom

The Wedding Website of Taylor Younkin and Hobie Horn
Question

How did the couple meet?

Answer

Hobie and Taylor attended Oklahoma University at the same time, but fate (and maybe a huge campus) kept them from meeting until their first year of chiropractic school at Parker University. Hobie joined the basketball team that just so happened to be with Rai, one of Taylor's closest friends since the first day of graduate school. Taylor mentioned to Rai and Alison that she thought Hobie was pretty cute. This began the weeks of scheming behind Taylor's back to find out if Hobie was single and interested! After some persuasion Hobie finally sent the first text. If you know these two you’re aware they can both be introverted when it comes to meeting new people. So began the “should I say this” and avoiding each other in the halls between class. But after the first few dates and 17 trips back and forth to help Taylor move, the connection was strong. Since then, they have tackled all-nighters studying, camping trips, Wynter accidents in the car, seminars, sweet date nights and a mission trip to Haiti. Hobie and Taylor continue to be each other’s biggest fans, teammates and supporters. Their love is rooted in laughter, compassion and shared dreams. As it would turn out, Chiropractic school wasn’t just the beginning of careers, it was the beginning of the best kind of love story.

Question

The proposal

Answer

Estes Park has always held a special place in Taylor’s heart, a beautiful mountain town filled with nostalgic memories from trips with her family. Knowing how much it meant to her, Hobie chose it as the perfect place to propose. With help from Taylor’s mom, Nicole, who scouted out a scenic trail under the guise of a casual outing (much to Taylor’s dismay at being left out), Hobie set his plan into motion. When the couple visited Colorado, Hobie suggested a hiking trip, and Taylor was thrilled to return to Estes. They woke up early and headed to the Gem Lake Trail, a fittingly named path for such a meaningful day. At the top of an overlook, in front of a unique, ring-shaped rock, Hobie got down on one knee and proposed. Taylor, of course, said yes! The two shared a quiet, unforgettable moment by the lake, toasting with champagne and carving their initials into a nearby aspen tree, a lasting symbol they can return to in the years ahead. The surprises didn’t stop there. Soon after, both of their families appeared at the top of the trail to celebrate the engagement. Hobie’s parents, Amy and Jeff, and his siblings, Hayden and Hadley, had flown in from Oklahoma to be there. Everyone had played a role in keeping the proposal a surprise. Taylor’s dad, David, even donned his work clothes that morning and pretended to leave for the day! To top it all off, Hobie had arranged for an overnight stay in Estes. The celebration continued with a cozy visit to a local coffee shop (where Taylor fed the ducks), strolls through charming downtown Estes, a few elk sightings, and a lovely dinner with their families.

Question

Future plans

Answer

Hobie and Taylor practice a specialized form of chiropractic care known as Applied Kinesiology, which emphasizes a whole-body approach to health. This method considers the structural, lymphatic, vascular, neurologic, and emotional components that can contribute to pain and chronic conditions. Through manual muscle testing, they are able to assess the nervous system and gain valuable insight into a patient’s overall well-being. Their shared goal is to open a practice together after gaining a few years of experience in the field. Both are deeply passionate about helping others reclaim their health and feel strongly called to serve as compassionate, heart-centered practitioners. Hobie is particularly interested in working with a wide range of diverse populations, while Taylor plans to focus on babies, mothers, and children with neurodevelopmental challenges. Beyond their professional aspirations, Hobie and Taylor dream of a life filled with adventure and exploration. They love backpacking, scuba diving, skiing, and discovering new places together. They’re excited to build a life side by side, supporting each other through all of life’s phases and experiences. Eventually, they hope to settle down in the countryside complete with a garden, chickens, and a home filled with love.

Question

What is the biggest quirk that you have learned about eachother?

Answer

T- "One thing I quickly learned about Hobie is that his idea of being "on time" means arriving 15 to 20 minutes early. Meanwhile, my version of on time, within five minutes, used to stress him out! These days, we both make it a point to get places early. Another thing I discovered? He’s incredibly competitive. Whether it’s board games, golf, or pretty much any activity, he’s always in it to win it and can get a bit worked up!" H- “I have never once seen Taylor in a matching pair of socks, and half of the time one of the socks she has on is mine. I have also learned that any emotion she is feeling is revealed through how she thinks her dog feels. If she is happy then Wynter is happy, if she says Wynter is sad, this probably means Taylor needs some tropical smoothie.”

Question

What do you remember about your first date?

Answer

T- "We were both pretty nervous on our first date, but we went mini golfing which was fun! I had jokingly mentioned that I couldn't parallel park and at the end of the date, he thought it would be a good idea to teach me in his truck. This was awfully bold of him because to this day I am not allowed to drive my Dad's truck and I would rather walk a long ways then parallel park somewhere, but luckily his truck made it out in one piece!" H- “I remember taking a hit to my pride as I watched Taylor beat me in mini-golf. I also remember the fear I had as she reached for the gas pedal and couldn’t see over the dash. I remember she looked gorgeous in her flowery sundress and that I had a really good time.”

Question

What are some of your favorite things about each other?

Answer

T- "One of the first things I noticed and quickly came to love about Hobie was how deeply he cares for and supports his family and friends. He’s genuinely kind and always goes the extra mile for the people he loves. He also has a great sense of humor and never fails to make me laugh. Most of all, he's incredibly supportive and always there when I need him." H- “I have enjoyed getting to watch Taylor go out of her way for those that she loves and cares about. My favorite thing about her is that she pushes herself and me to become better at every aspect of life.”

Question

What is your favorite date that you have been on?

Answer

T- "One of my favorite date nights was taking Texas two step classes together. It was a lot of fun getting to do something I love with Hobie! He was a pretty good dancer at the end of the classes too!" H- “My favorite date was getting to explore one of Taylor’s favorite places, Estes Park, while walking up the trail where I was going to propose to her.”
