It was our Senior year of High School and my first year at Sequoyah High. I was the “new”girl and certainly not looking for a boyfriend since I had just moved to the area and didn't know anyone yet. I was busy looking ahead to college days when I graduated and was totally unaware that my life was about to be turned around by the man that would become my husband! Hagin had his eyes set on me me. I knew of Hagin, but really didn't know him. One day he changed all of that! I was in my car headed out of school for the day, waiting in the excessively long car line to get out of the parking lot. Next thing I know, I hear a knock on my car window. To my surprise, I see a super tall, handsome guy standing outside my car. Shyly I rolled down the window and said rather timidly “Hey" He quickly responded, "Ummm...license and registration please!" I was so confused that all I could think to say was “I don't have them. I think they are in my bag” (as I awkwardly laughed) Hagin then said, “Thank you and have a good day ma'am" and walked away. What a line!!! He later messaged me on Instagram and it just kinda took off from there. That is our awkwardly "cute" story of how the bold Senior guy meets the "new" girl. Love comes around in the most unexpected and wonderful way.
Christmas was near and Holly (Hagin's Mom) called wanting to do family pictures in front of the beautifully decorated Chrismas tree in Claremore's Nemar Center. It was super short notice and I was rushing to be ready. My Office party was that night and we planned to get dressed up to go, but just not that soon. Hagin rushed me out the door and I was clueless to what was about to happen. In just a few minutes we are standing in front of the huge Christmas tree that we both loved and all of a sudden two Police cars come swirling into the parking lot where we were standing. Their lights are flashing and their sirens are blaring. I was in total confusion when Hagin turns to me and sweetly says “We are not actually here to take family pictures" As I turn to him, he drops to get down on one knee. My heart was beating so fast that I could hardly catch my breath. Sooo many thoughts were going through my head. “Do I hug him?...Do I say yes and THEN hug him??..All I knew was that the answer was absolutely a YES!! As he asked me to marry him and slipped the ring on my finger, I said “YES YES YES" I ran to him and held him so tight!!! Just then the Policemen over their speakers said, “SHE SAID YES!" It was the most magical moment of my life. In my memory, it seemed like everything around us disappeared and it was just the two of us, Standing together.. Ready to start a new life together. Always and Forever!
