Some love stories begin later in life, but Taylor and Grayson’s began long before either of them realized it. They met as children, frequently crossing paths at school and community events in their hometown of Woodstock, GA. The two first spoke when little Taylor invited herself to watch Pokémon with Grayson in the family car. In middle school, Taylor and Grayson became closer after finding a mutual love for choir and the arts. They eventually began “dating” in seventh grade - stealing glances at each other in the hallways and passing notes between classes. It was sweet, innocent, and just as you’d expect from a middle school romance … short-lived. Those seventh graders had no idea that this was only the first chapter in their lives together. Two years later, in ninth grade, Taylor and Grayson found their way back to each other. Things were different this time. They made each other laugh. They helped the other feel seen in a phase of life where identity and belonging are anything but simple. Throughout high school, the pair shared endless memories — from after school chorus rehearsals, theater performances, Grayson helping Taylor with her math homework (she still hates math), theme park & aquarium field trips, late night calls past bedtime, hiking excursions, and more. They were each other’s first love. Although they were young, the two realized that their connection was special. Through lots of childhood naivety, growing pains, and a continuous commitment to one another, they built a foundation for their relationship rooted in support and forever friendship. As time marched on, the world pulled them in different directions. High school ended, and Taylor and Grayson decided to attend two different universities. In 2020, Grayson continued his academic career at Georgia Institute of Technology to become a chemical engineer. Taylor set off for Athens, Georgia to attend the University of Georgia. For four years, they navigated a long-distance relationship, living off of bedtime calls and occasional weekend visits. Each tearful goodbye only reinforced what they already knew: this was a love worth holding onto. After graduating in May 2024, Taylor and Grayson finally got to close the distance. They packed up and moved to Louisiana to begin their next chapter together. Grayson began his career as a process engineer at International Paper, and Taylor started law school at LSU. After so many years, they got to build a home under the same roof — cooking dinners together, learning each other’s weird habits and living styles, cheering one another on during late and frustrating nights of work. They saw all the best and worst parts of each other, and learned what loving someone more than yourself truly meant. Post-grad life, and all its challenges, only strengthened their connection and dedication towards each other. Even mundane tasks, like doing laundry and taxes, had purpose and meaning when they were together. After a year, Grayson decided it was time to ask the question that was almost a decade in the making. With the blessing, and help, of Taylor’s mom, dad, and sister, he planned a beautiful surprise proposal on Mount Rainier in Washington State. On that peaceful mountaintop, with the world stretched out below them, Grayson asked Taylor to marry him. And after several tears, shrieks, and “are you serious?” questions, she of course said YES. Now, after all these years together, and endless more to come, they can’t wait to celebrate their marriage with the people they love most. “So, I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you.” - Paulo Coelho “In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world, there is no love for you like mine.” - Maya Angelou
