We were in the same Econ 101 class freshman year at UNC. Taylor referred to Grant as "cute econ boy" before she knew his real name.
Sophomore year, we were neighbors in the Morrison Dorm at UNC. Grant's guy friends and Taylor's girlfriends each had a "super suite" on the 8th floor which was a highly coveted living arrangement on campus. Our two groups of friends merged and we are all still friends to this day.
We hung out regularly throughout college. From Spring Break trips to Snowshoe, WV and the Bahamas, watching UNC basketball games and going out in Chapel Hill, we were always around each other, but just as friends.
The night of graduation was the start of the two of us becoming more than friends. Over the summer, we spent almost every day together until Taylor moved to Atlanta to begin her new job. We talked non-stop. Grant came to visit Taylor in Atlanta for the first time in August. Little did we know, this was the start of what would become a 3 year long-distance relationship.
After three years of going back and forth every other weekend from Charlotte to Atlanta, we were more than ready to be in the same city. Grant moved to Atlanta in May 2016 and we moved in to our first apartment together.
After six years of dating and almost ten years of friendship, Grant finally decided to pop the question. On his 28th birthday, he surprised Taylor by turning his birthday celebration into one of the biggest celebrations yet - our engagement. We spent a romantic evening out in Atlanta with a fancy dinner, bubbly, rooftop views and an incredible bottle of red wine.
We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with each and every one of you. See you in Pinehurst!
