Taylor and Forrest met at the University of Florida where Taylor was on the Dazzlers dance team and Forrest worked for athletics. They traveled many places together for athletics including Portland, the Bahamas, and multiple basketball tournaments during their first four years in Gainesville. However, it wasn't until Taylor graduated that Forrest "shot his shot". Their mutual love for sporting events and good mascotory brought them together and will always be a constant theme in their lives.

It was their last trip of summer 2022 prior to Taylor heading back to school as a teacher and Forrest getting ready for football season. They were going up to Forrest's family cottage in Door County, WI and then finishing their trip in Chicago and Michigan. This was sure to be a busy, fun-filled vacation full of cheese, beaches, and family time. The day started out with all of their favorite things. A walk down the beautiful Door County roads, a lunch date, hiking, and of course a round of mini-golf at The Red Putter. Little did Taylor know, Forrest would be popping the question later! After a few white lies about dinner reservations, Forrest and Taylor headed over to a family friend's property on Lake Michigan where Forrest proposed. There was champagne waiting in a kayak and Forrest's family hiding in the house. After lots of hugs and cheering, they finished the night cooking a delicious dinner with the most beautiful sunset!
