Surprisingly, Taylor and Ethan first met in September of 2010. At the time they were both dating other people. They were with a large group of people meeting to go to Ocean City, MD for a Volkswagen car show weekend called H20i. Ethan says he remembers seeing Taylor for the first time at the North Point Wawa group meet spot and instantly being attracted to her, Taylor barely remembers Ethan! After that weekend they did not see each other for three years. In 2013, they met again. Now they were dating two new people and starting fresh relationships once again, making them unavailable to one another. Over the course of the next three years, they frequently bumped into one another but never spoke due to still being in other relationships. In 2016 they both became single. Taylor reached out to Ethan on the night of June 14, 2016 to ask if he could date his ex-again that was now with Taylor’s ex because Taylor was trying to create a plan to get back with her ex. Ethan said absolutely not, and thought she was crazy. Ethan then added Taylor on Snapchat late that night because he was up to NO GOOD! They started talking back and forth. They joked about getting in his Volkswagen truck and hitting the road to see the country. Taylor asked if he wanted to hangout because he was really smooth at making her laugh. He said “when” and she jokingly said “right now”. Ethan came over that night within 40 minutes and the rest is history; they have spent every single day together since. They shared their first kiss June 24, 2016 outside of the Taco Bell in Essex. Taylor made the first move because she was tired of Ethan being a gentleman. Taylor realized she had fallen in love on August 8th, but kept it to herself. Ethan took her to Rock State Park on August 12th and told her he is falling in love with her for the first time. Ethan asked several times over the next year to be official. He even gave Taylor a promise ring on April 6, 2017. After spending everyday together and jokingly claiming to be “just friends” Taylor finally gave in. On their one-year anniversary, June 14, 2017, Ethan wrote on a foggy shower mirror “Will you be my girlfriend”. Over the next 6 years they built a life with one another. They have finished degrees, set their careers, created goals, bought land, and bought a rental property. Most importantly on December 3, 2023, they publicly pronounced their faith through baptism and gave their life to the Lord. On April 23, 2024 at bible study Taylor walked out to the pier to take in Gods glory on a beautiful spring day. When Ethan followed her out, she thought he wanted a picture together outside. But he got down on one knee and asked for a lifetime together. All Taylor could say is “no you’re not” and we still do not know if she ever officially said yes! The people they love the most were there to witness the proposal including both of their moms. Turns out Ethan had been trying to propose for days including at church and the Brandon Lake concert but it was never the right moment. If there is one thing this love story shows it is that we are on Gods timing, never our own. Taylor and Ethan had met many times before, but truly met when they needed it the most. Gods plan for us is so much bigger and better than the plan we try to set for ourselves! “Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.
