Change of Date

May 22nd 2021

With the uncertainy upon us, Erik and I have decided to postpone our wedding day. We don’t want to remember our big day with someone getting sick, rather we want to remember celebrating our love and marriage with family and friends even if thay means waiting another year. And what a story it will be to remember ❤️ With the hopes of having a private ceremony on our original day, we plan to renew our vows and have our dream ceremony and reception on May 22nd, 2021. All vendors have been AMAZING so far in changing our date. Please let us know if you have any questions Love, Taylor and Erik

How We Met

May 29th, 2015

As 21-year old's do on their birthday, Amy (best friend and bridesmaid) and I went out for drinks to celebrate. Well, we failed at the "bar hopping" scene after stopping at the second bar, but we had something even more exciting to look forward to: a Montgomery Gentry concert that Friday night. This cute guy I met at the bar was also going because his buddy got free tickets. You may be thinking that Erik was THE cute guy. Nope. He was the buddy. Once I met Erik, he became the cute guy my eyes were set on! I didn't think I had a chance, especially after I told him I was only 21. I didn't think anything would happen since we lived 2.5 hours apart. Little did I know, I met my best friend and love of my life that night. After a few months of texting, we finally went on our first date. Let's just say it wasn't the best first date ever, but I liked him too much to think otherwise. That same weekend, we went to Lake Elsie for a beautiful day at the beach. It went from Erik thinking he picked up a stick with his foot and it being a rubber snake, me asking how many kids he wanted (my awkward self didn't know that wasn't second date material), and ending with Erik deciding to call into work sick the next day just so he could spend a few more hours with me that night. That summer was just the beginning of many days full of laughter, love and adventure to come.

The Proposal

August 19th, 2018

If you know two things about our relationship it's that we always pick on each other and we love to do things outdoors. Well...both of those things were a big part of the day Erik proposed. We were having a lazy Sunday afternoon, so Erik suggested we go to Mulberry Outlook for something to do. We walked the trails below the outlook for the first time, it was so peaceful. That didn't stop Erik from taking a weed and lightly touching my back with it, me thinking it was a bug, and freaking out. Payback came later. As it started to mist, Erik pulled me aside to the top of the outlook. Time stood still as we held each other and looked over the rolling hills and fast-moving Missouri river. In that moment, Erik got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. They say its good luck when it rains on your wedding day. Well, we are off to a great start because shortly after he asked the big question it started to pour.

Vow Renewel & The Full Get-up

May 22nd 2021

Yes! Erik and I did get married on May 30th 2020! Depsite what the pandemic was doing to our world, we wanted to remember 2020 with something good, something happy. So, we had a small ceremony at my grandma’s acreage and it was perfect. Yes, i did wish you were all there but now i am so excited for May 22nd. We are going all out, just as if we were getting married for the first time. We will have our ceremony and vow renewel at 3:30 on May 22nd with reception and dance to follow. We know this is unconventional/odd, but heck, the pandemic ruined enough and we won’t let it ruin this. Hope to see you there!
