Once upon a time, in the Montreat College dining hall, Taylor and Eli’s paths crossed. It was 2018, just before Thanksgiving break. Taylor was a freshman on the volleyball team, and Eli was a sophomore on the baseball team. They were introduced by a mutual friend over what seemed like just another typical college dinner meal — but for Taylor, there was nothing typical about it. As she stared across the table into his ocean blue eyes, she thought, “This man is handsome.” That same night, their friends “conveniently” made other plans, leaving Taylor and Eli to ride together to grab food. What followed was a quiet (and slightly awkward) car ride — but it sparked the beginning of something real and lasting. On January 20, 2019, they officially began dating. Over the next six years, they journeyed through many seasons — including nearly two years of long-distance when Eli moved to Oklahoma. It wasn’t always easy, but through every challenge and celebration, they saw how God was faithfully writing their story. Today, Taylor and Eli get to serve side by side at church — Taylor on staff, and Eli pouring into the kids ministry with so much heart. Serving together has become one of their greatest joys, and a constant reminder that God hears every prayer. From a college dining hall, a quiet and awkward car ride, to watching God faithfully answer prayer after prayer — every step of their journey has been marked by God’s grace, His timing, and His unfailing faithfulness. Now, they can’t wait to step into this next chapter — and celebrate it with the people who’ve walked with them along the way.
