We met at my best friend Ariana's wedding. While wedding dress shopping for Ariana I met Dalton's mother Marlys. She immediately tried to set Dalton and I up. Both of us were unsure about this set up. Over the next couple of months the attempt for this set up continued from our families. We finally met on 9.2.17. Through talking, dancing, laughing, and standing together in the sparkler exit those weren’t the only sparks flying that night. At the time I was living in Kansas City and Dalton was in Des Moines. I went home for Shelbi's wedding and Dalton and I went on 5 dates in a short time and knew that we wanted to give long distance a shot!

Over the next year Dalton and I made many trips back and forth from Des Moines & Kansas City. We both loved the cities we were currently living in but knew we didn't want to continue doing long distance. This is when we decided to begin travel nursing and Dalton was going to being a career as a freelance marketer from home. We celebrated our 1 year of doing long distance & then began the process to moving to Seattle, WA for our first assignment. We have gone from Seattle to Houston to Cincinnatti

Dalton & I had just arrived home from our first assignment in Seattle. We were away for the holidays so we were going to be celebrating holidays with our families during our time at home. Dalton took me to dinner with Sheldon and Katie (his brother and brothers fiancèe) and told me it was a Christmas gift. We then went to his uncle's house to see family before we went on a weekend trip to Arizona. When we arrived at this house, Dalton's mom was waiting in the garage with blindfolds. (If you know Marlys you wouldn't be surprised by this as she loves being dramatic, giving gifts & surprises). Blindfolds were placed on both of us and we were told we were getting a Christmas gift. I was walked through the house (thinking I was getting a dog) and when the blind fold was removed I realized the room was filled with so many of our family & friends & Dalton Blaine was on a knee. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. It was the absolute perfect SURPRISE. We celebrated the rest of the night with the most thoughtful engagement party.
