Seeing the ambulance crew is not a rare occurrence in the Emergency Room, but working a day shift (actually a rare occurrence) on June 15, 2018 was a memorable one (but at the time not so much) That day my coworker, Brianna, briefly introduced me to her good friends who worked the ambulance crew. Cody and I exchanged a quick & uninteresting “hello” - but we’re busy so we go about our day. Later that same day I received a call from my dad & he explained that my grandfather needed to go to the hospital & decided that an ambulance would be the best way to transport him. Once the ambulance arrives, Cody hops out & aids my grandfather the entire way to St. Dominic. For the record, Cody nor I realized this exchange until weeks later (but daddy of course remembered). A few weeks later, Brianna caught me off guard with these words – “Hey this fireman thinks you’re cute & wants your phone number” Oh? Yeah, I blew that off. Well… that was until I thought about it a little more that night & gave Brianna the go-ahead. The night before my birthday was our first date. We were sitting on his tailgate overlooking the reservoir. Midnight struck and with a romantic glance & a kiss he said “Happy Birthday, beautiful” The rest is history!
