I was a volunteer with the Salisbury Fire Department and Chris was a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic. We knew of each other but had actually never talked or even really met. It was during that horrible snow storm we had in January of 2018. It was Saturday, January 6, 2018 and I had volunteered to help out just for the day half. Chris was supposed to be getting off that day but decided to pick up the extra shift. I actually decided to stay the whole 24 hour shift (because Chris decided to stay). I called my parents and asked if they could bring me a blanket, pillow and warmer clothes..it was freezing! When my mom arrived she asked why I decided to stay longer and my response was "well I am working with a hot paramedic". We talked throughout the day and got to know each other a little bit better. The next day, I decided to take the risk and message him first. We can just say the rest is history and here we are planning our wedding!
We took a friends and family trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. I had a feeling at some point during the trip Chris was going to propose. The day I thought he was going to do it was the day we hiked over 2 miles to get to this gorgeous waterfall. It didn't happen, like I thought. The next day we had planned to walk around downtown Gatlinsburg and we went on the Sky Bridge. It is an old rope bridge, overlooking the mountains and the town of Gatlinsburg. In the middle of the bridge, their was plexi-glass to look down below you. I was walking ahead of everyone, I was told to stop and turn around. Once I turned around, Chris was on one knee on the plexi-glass. That's how our happily ever after began.
