Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal Attire- We understand that August is a hot month, but we would love to have our friends and family get all dressed up and look nice for our big day! NO jeans, t-shirts, hats, or sneakers please! If you need some direction: Ladies are encouraged to wear floor length, tea length, or midi formal dresses! Shoes- heels or nice sandals are always great! Keep in mind that Oak Hill has mostly grass and gravel areas, but the pavilion is hard flooring! Gentlemen are encouraged to wear a suit or dress pants with a long sleeve dress shirt or short sleeve dress shirt, with dress shoes. Ties are optional, but encouraged! Please note that ceremony and reception will be outside. However, if it is raining, the ceremony will be held inside the on-site church!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. Due to Oak Hills strict 250 person max policy, we are only able to accommodate those who are formally invited. As much as we would love to invite everyone and their grandma, we just can't! If you receive a plus one, they would appear under your name when you RSVP! Your invitation will be made out to "your name & guest/their name" if a plus one has been given to you! No hard feelings, the venue just has limited space!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adult only event! Because of our liquor license, those 21+ only (and specifically invited) may attend! We encourage you to use this evening as a date night, and we hope you understand! Of course, the star of the whole event, Oaklynn, will be in attendance for a good portion of the day/evening!

Question

What if I don't RSVP in time?

Answer

If we do not receive an RSVP by the date provided, you will be marked as a "No." We will miss you, however, we have to provide the most accurate guest count to both our vendors & Oak Hill, in the timely manner they have given us and are unable to accept late RSVP's due to this. We hope you understand!

Question

Will transportation be provided to/from the venue day of?

Answer

We will have shuttles going to and from the venue! Shuttles will pick up and drop off at Country Inn & Suites in Galena, IL. Check out the travel page for additional info on that, such as departure times.

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

DUH! ;) We will be providing an open bar! This will include beer, wine, liquor, seltzers, and pop/water. Liquor will only be available from the start of cocktail hour until after dinner. Beer, wine, seltzers, and pop/water will be provided during the entirety of our event!

Question

Can I take photos/videos?

Answer

Respectfully, no! We are kindly asking that during the ceremony, all devices be turned off or on silent and tucked away. We have hired professionals to capture our big day and would hate for these items to block their ability to capture our big moment! We thank you for understanding! However, after the ceremony has concluded and guests make their way to cocktail hour, from there you may snap as many photos/videos as you please! There will be a QR code provided at each table in the pavilion, to share these memories directly to us as well!

Question

What food vendors will you have?

Answer

If there’s one food genre Carter and I love, it’s smoked/BBQ food! With that being said, we will be having Moski’s BBQ food truck at the wedding! The two meat options are Pulled Pork sandwich or Pulled Chicken sandwich. Sides include coleslaw, baked potato casserole, and BBQ beans! For dessert, we will have Elle & Beck’s gelato truck alongside Moski’s! PLEASE make sure to choose your main course option when you RSVP!
