It was Summer of 2011 and a mutual friend had invited them to her birthday celebration in Palm Springs, California. Not many words were exchanged between the two of them on this trip, but Taylor was smitten over Blaze and Blaze somehow managed getting Taylor's phone number so that he could ask her on a date when they both were back in Arizona. Blaze came to pick Taylor up for their first date. He hadn't told her where they would be going yet, but once he arrived he informed her that they were going to the drive-in movie theater. Ironically enough, this is where her parents met many moons ago! Fast forward to 2014. They crossed paths once again and the rest is history! Five years later has brought them to this beautiful, special celebration. They conquered two and a half years of long distance, bought their first home and picked up two of the best puppies along the way.

The morning of March 9th, Taylor was in rare form. She kept pestering Blaze about where he was hiding the ring, though she truly was under the impression that he had yet to buy one. That evening, they had plans to go to dinner with Taylor's sister and her boyfriend for birthday shenanigans. They sat outside by their fire pit and were getting ready to leave. When Taylor walked inside her house she was surprised to see her entire family and Blaze's parents all there to surprise her! She didn't want to overreact because it was in fact her birthday, but eventually she realized what was happening and the water works began. Blaze gave a beautiful toast (although Taylor will tell you she blacked out and could not hear a word he was saying) and before she knew it, the love of her life pulled the most stunning ring out of their kitchen drawer and got down on one knee. With an ecstatic YES! she also started laughing, exclaiming "WAS THAT THE HIDING PLACE"!? Afterwards, they all went out to their favorite brewery, McFates, to celebrate the engagement!
