The day before my senior year of high school, Austin asked me to dinner downtown Naperville. After a great dinner, he said the fateful words, " I can't believe I am going to date a Benet person." (Austin went to the "rival" high school, St. Francis) I quickly responded with, "Oh? We are dating now?" And he officially asked me to be his girlfriend after a month of hanging out. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. Little did we know that this "rivalry" relationship would last us the rest of our lives.

Austin and I decided to go to Iowa City to meet up with our college friends who were in town for the weekend. On Saturday, we spent the day with Austin's cousins, Matt and Kelly, playing bags, drinking beer and enjoying the wonderful weather. Matt and Kelly had to go to a "work party" and while Austin and I waited, we decided to go on a walk. We walked up to the Old Capitol Building and reminisced on 4 great years at The University of Iowa. Out of no where, Austin gets down on one knee and proposes! While he is down on one knee, a wedding party who was walking past us, cheers us on and screams, "WE LOVE LOVE!" I have never been more surprised in my life. We spent the rest of the day FaceTiming loved ones, drinking champagne and celebrating a perfect day!
