From riding bus #7 throughout our childhood I finally met the man of my dreams the day after I came home from college. I just had graduated from Marquette packed up my bags and was moving back home for a few months before going back to Milwaukee to start my career. Little did I know I’d fall in love with my “neighbor”. We met at the Badger Hockey Christmas party. We became beer pong partners and the rest is history. - Taylor
Once I got smart and finally decided to propose, it was now time to plan. Traveling has played a large role in our relationship. The plan was to find the most romantic place in the winter time to propose. I wanted a light snow fall, a pisteresque view, and the love of my life to say “YES”. That’s exactly what happened along with a few bloopers. After researching the heck out of the world, I planned the perfect winter vacation. First, we went to Austria for a week. We went to the top of the mountains, drank a lot of hot chocolate, and explored the best Christmas markets. It was amazing! Don’t worry my family and I didn’t spill the beans while we were in Austria. Then we made our way to Germany. This was the place. This is where I started to get nervous. We went to Munich and explored the streets and drank our new favorite beer “the raddler”, it is a blend of lemonade and light beer. We had so much fun. One night I decided to change up the plans - it was either my nerves kicking in or the weather. I decided to move our tour to the Neuschwanstein Castle a day earlier. It couldn’t be more perfect with the light snow fall they just had and little tourist with it being November. As we were in the bus to the Castle a lady told us that the bridge was closed. The bridge closes after the first snowfall until Spring time. My stomach turned. That was the place I was proposing to Taylor. We got to the castle and I had no back up plan and no idea where I was going to propose. The next thing I knew my mother jumped the fence. And everyone followed lead. Several minutes later we made it to the bridge - at this point my heart was racing and I couldn’t wait to ask Taylor to marry me. There on the bridge I got down on one knee in the snow covered Bavarian Alps, with the beautiful castle in the background, and the love of my life. Taylor said “YES. Cheers we got engaged! - Austin
