How We Met

Classic story- eyes meet from across the room

December 14th, 2018- Allen just graduated from the fire academy (whoot whoot) and was out to celebrate. Taylor spontaneously went out with a group of girlfriends. Old Town Saloon was the bar of choice for both Allen and Taylor that night. Throughout the night Allen and Taylor both kept "eye flirting" back and forth. Taylor told her friends, "I want to dance with the big boy standing on the stage" and Allen told his friends, "I want to dance with her". They finally made their way to each other and one dance led to the whole night full of dancing and conversation. Allen asked for Taylor's number and they planned their first date a few days later. Now they are engaged to be married and it all started with a glance at the bar.

The Proposal Story

Operation Caramel Swirl

Allen did not take proposing to the love of his life lightly. He called in some reinforcements. Their undercover name was "operation caramel swirl". Months of brainstorming and planning the perfect day was not easy, especially trying to keep everything a surprise for Taylor. Allen knew that Taylor wanted the proposal to be intimate, but also wanted to opportunity to celebrate with family and their closest friends. So, it was his mission to make her wishes come true. He planned a proposal in his friends backyard, the perfect place to create and intimate moment and to throw Taylor off from any ideas she may have had in her head. Allen and Taylor arrived at the "proposal site" for what Taylor thought was a birthday BBQ for Allen. To her surprise there was romantic music playing, tons of candles and twinkly lights, and centered with a beautiful arch. Taylor was already bawling knowing what was about to come. Allen walked her down the beautifully lit walkway to right under the arch. There at the arch Allen pulled out a book that he had made for her explaining all the reasons he loves her. Taylor continued to bawl tears of joy and excitement. After reading the book Allen got down on one knee and said his speech. The speech ended with... "I want this feeling with you to last forever. I'd like to take this opportunity here and now and make it eternal with you... so Miss Cortez can I change your last name and live happily ever after? What I'm really trying to say is Taylor, will you marry me?" of course Taylor said, "YES!!!!" But the surprises didn't end there... Allen drove Taylor straight to the planned engagement party. They walked in the door and were greeted by all their family and closest friends. It was the perfect night! Everything they ever dreamed it could be and more!
