At the workplace, Taylor, the lively marketing girl, and Alex, the focused accountant, crossed paths for the first time. Well before their romance began, they became friends, building a closeness rooted in their shared love of food and family. They swapped recipes and always had the best banter. After years of working together, Taylor found out that Alex was hosting a get-together at his apartment. On a warm day in August, Alex and Taylor ventured into Brooklyn so he could show her his old stomping grounds. She got all dressed up, excited for a day just the two of them. Alex had mapped out a series of destinations for their outing. First, they sat on a beautiful rooftop overlooking Manhattan, enjoying snacks, cocktails and more of their signature banter. Taylor jokingly looked at Alex and said: “Stop taking me on dates unless you plan to propose!” Little did she know, Alex had the engagement ring, safely in an Altoids tin, in his pocket. A few hours later, after a few more stops and day marked with laughter, Alex suggested they walk to the nearby riverfront underneath the Brooklyn Bridge. Taylor immediately looked out at the water, taking in all that she could see after a perfect day together. When she turned around, Alex was on one knee, with an enormous smile on his face. He pulled out that Altoids case and asked Taylor the question that she wanted to hear for months. “Taylor, will you marry me?” Of course, she instantly said yes, and the two celebrated with a delicious meal, knowing that they had just embarked on the next chapter of their lives together.
