Preferring to sit in a pool while taking in the scenery and as non-divers, we cannot vouch for it ourselves, but the Cayman Islands are a world-class dive destination! Grand Cayman's West Wall is famous for its huge sand channels, swim-throughs and amazing scenery. Cayman's North Wall is popular due to its spectacular topography with sheer wall faces that go from 50 feet to 5000 feet, and an abundance of huge coral formations. And right off SMB, the wreck of the ex-USS Kittiwake is an artificial reef attraction with great year round diving conditions, easy access and many areas to explore.
If you'd like to explore off the beach a bit, we recommend a visit to Camana Bay, a lively waterfront town just a quick walk from SMB where you can get braids from locals like I opted for and probably will again (photo above) satisfy your foodie cravings, shop for all things local and explore weekly Farmers & Artisans Markets.
