Where Our Story Turns Into Forever

It all began one Sunday morning in the church foyer, the day that God asked Taylor to stay in Fort Myers instead of traveling for work. Little did she know that it would be the day where she would meet her future husband. They were both talking with mutual friends and that’s when Drew extended his hand, and said, “I don’t think we’ve met — I’m Drew.” She smiled and said, “I’m Taylor.” A simple handshake... and something just clicked. Soon after, they found themselves serving together in both kids and student ministry — waving across hallways, sharing short conversations, and gradually becoming a meaningful part of each other’s Sundays. They quickly realized they shared a passion for loving and leading the next generation, and something deeper began to grow. Taylor's first impression of Drew? She thought he was really cute and kind — the kind of person you just want to know more about. Drew’s first impression of Taylor? That she was really pretty and that she had a beautiful heart for kids. It was something they instantly connected over. Eventually, Taylor got bold and gave him a side hug at church (yes, she made the first move 😉). Then, while Drew was away on a trip, he made a promise to himself: “If I think about Taylor at all while I’m gone, then I have to ask her out.” Spoiler alert: he couldn’t stop thinking about her. He finally got the guts to ask her out and their first date was perfect! Their relationship continued to develop over time as they invited God into every aspect of it. Now, over a year later, they are engaged to be married! Drew proposed at Lakes Park by recreating their first and second dates — a full-circle moment they'll never forget. They are so thankful that God brought them together through ministry, friendship, and faith — and are now counting down the days until they become husband and wife!
