Taylor and Layne can't really tell their love story without first acknowledging another, because there would be no Taylor and Layne without Dylan Licud. Layne and Taylor met during their senior year of high school in 2018. Taylor had a math class with Dylan (one of Layne's friends and now groomsman). Dylan, being Dylan, decided to play matchmaker. Taylor gave him two qualifications for her perfect man. Jokingly she said he must play football and he must have abs. Dylan began naming many of the guys on the high school football team, and Taylor declined all of them; however, when he said Layne's name, Taylor said maybe. That maybe was truly the start of their happily ever after.

Taylor and Layne had just finished getting dinner with Taylor's family in downtown Detroit. After dinner, they walked to Campus Martius on a cold winter day on December 22, 2024 to take family Christmas pictures. Campus Martius was decorated beautifully!! It looked like a magical Christmas city adorned with twinkling Christmas lights, holiday attractions, and a towering Christmas tree lit up in the center. While posing for a photo in front of the glistening tree, Layne pulled out a ring box and, to Taylor's surprise, proposed! They were surrounded by many people visiting the city, and after Taylor said yes, the crowd erupted with applause!! It was such a magical moment!
