Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre
This is one of our favorite places to go together. You can walk around the amphitheater and museum or explore the beautiful trails surrounding the venue. If you're a morning person, this is the best place to watch the sun rise over Denver.
Mount Blue Sky
The highest paved road in North America! This scenic drive will take you to the top of Mount Blue Sky (or The Peak Formerly Known As Mount Evans). The peak is 14,264 feet above sea level, so bring a coat - we went up to the Peak for Tayler's birthday in July a few years ago and got snowed on!
Evergreen Lake
We love walking the trail around this lake in the summer. This is Bernie's favorite trail because it's paved, pretty, and easy. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also rent paddle boards and kayaks!
Denver Zoo
We love the Denver Zoo! It is perfect for getting outside and enjoying the sun for a few hours.
Cheesman Park
This is our favorite park in Denver. We have spent many afternoons relaxing in hammocks, having picnics, and playing lawn games with friends here. On the weekends, the big field fills up with pop-up volleyball and spike ball games, which always makes for great people-watching.
Denver Botanic Gardens
Absolutely gorgeous way to spend a morning!
Denver Museum of Nature & Science
If you are looking for the ultimate view, head to the skydeck! It's one of our favorite spots to breathe in the scenery.

This is where we met! For great views, sit on the upstairs balcony.
Dinosaur Ridge
See more than 250 fossil tracks at the paleontologist-rated #1 Dinosaur Tracksite in the nation, and see the site of the first-named Stegosaurus bone fossils! Plus, who doesn't love an outdoor museum?!
Coors Brewery and Clear Creek
Tour the original Coors Brewery! And if you're feeling like a little adrenaline rush, pack your suit and tube down Clear Creek before your tour for the ultimate Golden experience (this is NOT a lazy river...you've been warned).
Meow Wolf Denver's Convergence Station
Expect the unexpected at this kaleidoscopic immersive art experience as you traverse luminous corridors filled with interactive elements, shifting soundscapes, and story-rich installations that ignite every sense. Spanning multiple floors as Meow Wolf's largest exhibition yet, every room holds a story, every portal a choice that could change everything (easy to spend several hours exploring).
Chautauqua Park
This is a large outdoor park next to the Boulder Flatirons. Great views and easy hiking trails!
