FAQsFAQs

The Wedding Website of Tayler Cook and Carson Palumbo
Wish we could call this an FAQ’S AND DETAILS page. We wish we could make this font bigger. But alas, we didn’t spring for the upgraded version of this wedding website. We put that money into more important things, like food! If you plan on attending our wedding, it would be greatly appreciated if you would spend a moment to read through this page as it’s loaded with details we’d like you to know beforehand. If there is anything you will learn real quick is our tradition is to be non-traditional. We mean that in all the best ways and hope you find huge enjoyment in your afternoon and evening with us.
Question

How do I RSVP & when is that deadline so the mother of the bride doesn’t give me the stink-eye all night, showing up without letting her know? How do I RSVP & when is that deadline so the mother of the bride doesn’t give me the stink-eye all night, showing up without letting her know?

Answer

Well, we would love it if you could RSVP, ASAP! But, we really, really need to know by August 1st. This is the deadline with our vendors who are helping and serving up amazing food and drinks. We are super happy if you can come, and will be so sad if you cannot. We understand! This RSVP is the best way of helping us give you the best experience on our lovely day. Thank you for letting us know either way. You can RSVP right here on this website. Just click on the RSVP tab right next to the FAQ’s.

Question

What time should I arrive for the orchard wedding ceremony so I am not a sweaty hot mess, having to run to my seat? What time should I arrive for the orchard wedding ceremony so I am not a sweaty hot mess, having to run to my seat?

Answer

Please arrive 15-30 minutes before the orchard ceremony, which begins at 3:45pm. So if you can’t do math, that’s between 3:15-3:30pm. It is a short walk to the shaded orchard where the ceremony will take place. Did we mention orchard and ceremony enough times in the last few sentences? Probably, but this is just so no one who is attending the “sealing” ceremony gets confused. That ceremony will take place the following day, just for your confused benefit! Though the orchard will be shaded, it will be warm. This arrival time will allow you to stop and grab a ready-for-you-to-sip-on water while you wait for the ceremony to start.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If you are invited and would like to bring a plus one with you, and you do not see a guest addition in your RSVP, text or call us and let’s talk! We love you and want you to enjoy your day with us, at the same time we would like to keep this to close family and friends. Either way, please RSVP as soon as possible, at the latest August 1st.

Question

Are my adorable children allowed? Are my adorable children allowed?

Answer

We love kids. We love your kids. For this day, we would love to love your kids from afar. To allow all wedding guests, including parents, a night of relaxation and uninhibited revelry, we politely request no children under 15. You will see a few close cousins in the mix as they are part of the ceremony but they will be the exception. If this is a problem in any way, contact us and lets talk.

Question

Is the ceremony outside? Is the ceremony outside?

Answer

Yes! Our ceremony will take place outdoors in a shaded orchard. August in Utah can still be warm, so we recommend dressing comfortably for the weather, but still upscale. If you’ve gotta bring an extra dress shirt to keep dry, we fully support that kinda thinking! Please note the ceremony and cocktail area are grassy terrain. The reception barn is at the same venue right next to where the ceremony will be held. There will be ground coolers and fans to help keep everyone comfortable throughout the evening. Mapleton is known for its beautiful, summer evening breezes so we anticipate a nice night.

Question

What should I wear?What should I wear?

Answer

Bridal party members are asked to wear black. We invite all other guests to wear black or one of the colors shown above. We would love for everyone to coordinate with our wedding palette! Suits, cocktail and semi-formal are appreciated. August is warm so keep that in mind as this is a semi-outdoor wedding event. Ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside on grass.

Question

Will there be drinks & food for me to munch? Will there be drinks & food for me to munch?

Answer

Yes! Come for the food, stay for the merriment!! Cocktail hour will begin 15 minutes after the ceremony ends, and will run from 4:30-5:30pm. This hour will bring bite-sized, butler passed hors d’oeuvres, as well as self-serve charcuterie board deliciousness. Drinks will be in plenty, serving up mocktails, italian sodas, strawberry lemonade, and fruit infused water. Dinner will be Tasso’s Italian pizzas. Carson’s request! He said it’s the closest to anything he had in Italy. Why not!! What pairs good on a warm august day with pizza…salads. Three culinary crafted salads to choose from, served with breadsticks and maybe some olive oil and vinegar for dipping. Yes please. Dessert is cake. Just kidding. There will be no cake. It’s summer. Pinguino’s Artisian Gelato is where it’s at! This is the real stuff, well as real as you can get eating it in Utah instead of Italy. And let’s be honest, nothing hits the same as doing it in Italy ;) But we digress… Well, they have come pretty dang close. This is not a bag mix people. You may ask, isn’t gelato just ice cream? Yep, but this ice cream is squisito! Look it up. And wait till you see what the gelato and some of the drinks are served from. Looks like Guido (that little “pitstop” guy from Cars) and a Vespa had a baby. If there was any reason to come to this wedding…just sayin’. Did we mention Carson and Tayler are going to Italy for their honeymoon. You see a theme here?? All drink types will be served throughout the evening. Needless to say, you won’t starve.

Question

When is the best time to mingle & talk with the bride and groom? What will cocktail hour consist of besides eating, drinking, & being merry, so I won’t have to sit around staring at my phone!?When is the best time to mingle & talk with the bride and groom? What will cocktail hour consist of besides eating, drinking, & being merry, so I won’t have to sit around staring at my phone!?

Answer

First off, being bored on your phone is on you, but we get it. There can be a lot of in-between time. Sadly, our venue won’t allow for blow-up mechanical bulls, adult bounce-houses, or even mini highland ponies to serve you drinks & take pictures with. We should have read the contract a little better before we signed. Pretty sure there is a goat running around the venue to take pictures with somewhere… so our hope is to minimize & simultaneously fill that space with as much “merry” as we can, because we love you. To mitigate that in-between time & to take the whirlwind out of the day we are doing a lot of the wedding photos on the Thursday evening before, & hour before the orchard ceremony. This will take a lot of pressure off the actual wedding day so we can worry less about getting those perfect couple & family photos, and instead enjoy most of the cocktail hour with friends & family. Also, we refuse to be that couple who never gets to eat at their wedding. We want to eat all the yums too. Wait till you try the bacon wrapped dates…! There will be no line. Those are so formal & boring anyways. Instead, we hope to see cocktail hour be a time where in between you all stuffing your faces with delicious bites, playing cornhole (because Carson does that at every wedding), utilizing the photo-booth, & enjoying small-group entertainment (no, not the dancing kind), we can casually mingle around, loving on all of you in a more intimate way. This will be a great time to spill all your best marriage tips (give us the real talk). We’d love to take candid selfies with you on your phones as well as a quick, fun, professional shot by our photographer. We want to love you for doing life with us. Of course we will be there all evening to love on & visa versa, but this is how we see things going for that pre-reception hour. As we lean into the reception, time just moves quick with dinner, dances, speeches, blah, blah…you get the point. Make the most of cocktail hour!

Question

Will there be dancing and will I be shamed if I don’t dance? Will there be dancing and will I be shamed if I don’t dance?

Answer

If you come for the "I dos," just know you are also enrolling yourself in the "get lows" portion of the night. This isn't so much a question as it is a love language request. Honestly, people, it's a wedding, and this isn't the town of Bomont, so dancing will absolutely have its moment! Kevin Bacon and Kenny Loggins probably won't make an appearance, but expect to see Carson cut footloose at the end of the night. Yep, went there… We won't make it a painfully long dance sesh, but if you love Carson, give him the gift of your sweaty body on the dance floor. Nothing would make his night more—well, at least up to that point…;) …and yes you will probably get shamed for not dancing.

Question

What time is the Grand Exit at the end of the night so I can go home without feeling bad for leaving too early? What time is the Grand Exit at the end of the night so I can go home without feeling bad for leaving too early?

Answer

We would like to clear the dance floor around 8:40pm. This will give all of you time to make your way to the exit side of the barn where our most lovely friend and wedding coordinator/planner, Sarah Wells, will be passing out something akin to pop-it streamers. We really wanted to do sparklers but you know, it being August, and a mountain side, we don’t want to set Mapleton on fire because that would be bad. Anywhooo, every new bride wants that amazing exit picture, hence the pop-it streamers. So while we enjoy our first, last slow dance alone as a cute married couple, please move quickly so we can make this pic happen. Moving people at a wedding is like herding cats so do your best people. We’re on a timeline here. The DJ will probably yell at you to get off the dance floor anyways so that will be your other signal :) Bonus: When it’s over, there will be no need for anyone to hang around and clean-up. We have that all taken care of. Just grab your junk and get out, and we mean that with all the love!

Question

Is there a timeline for how the day will go for guests? Is there a timeline for how the day will go for guests?

Answer

Yes! We will have one up shortly. Please hold…

Question

Who is invited to the temple sealing & what time should I arrive?Who is invited to the temple sealing & what time should I arrive?

Answer

We will be having our official ceremony and celebration in the orchard for all friends and family the day before. Our temple sealing is on August 22nd at the Payson, Utah Temple. We will be sending out personal invites for the sealing, and that will also show on your RSVP page. Even if you do not affiliate with the temple, you are welcome to come send us off as we leave for Italy the next day. Your well wishes and love mean the most to us. Heaven isn't a place, it's a relationship. We hope that through these two days of events you feel our belief in that more than anything else. If you plan to attend the sealing inside, it starts at 10:00 a.m. The temple requests you arrive 30 minutes early, so again, 9:30 a.m. if you can't do math. Those temple folk really get after you if you show up late, just putting that out there. ;) If you are hanging outside till the sealing is over, our best family members will be hanging out with cold drinks and fruit for everyone to help keep you cool and hydrated. Can we make temple tailgating a thing? I mean really, what better place to hang out with the family and friends you get to spend this lifetime with!
