Ethan and I met through mutual friends during a game night at my friend's cabin in high school. My first impression of Ethan came during a game of Headbands when he revealed that he didn't know who Peter Pan was! I quickly realized he had a lot to learn. Our first date was getting frozen yogurt at Sweet Frog, which is very fitting because we still end almost every night with a sweet treat. We officially started dating in February 2020. Just a few months later, Ethan graduated from high school and headed to Tennessee Tech, beginning our first year of long distance. In 2021, I moved to Lexington to attend the University of Kentucky. Throughout college, we spent many weekends traveling back and forth and enjoyed exploring each other's new cities! In 2023, Ethan started law school at the University of Tennessee, and after his first year, we added a new member to our family—our shelter dog, Zazu. He keeps us on our toes and is a little crazy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Today, we're both living in Knoxville and are so grateful that long distance is finally behind us. Ethan graduated from law school this year, and I am currently in veterinary school. We love spending time together exploring Knoxville, playing pickleball, and, of course, finding our next favorite dessert. On September 15, 2025, Ethan planned the perfect proposal. Little did I know that a day that began with my first veterinary school exam would end with one of the happiest moments of my life. After my exam, Ethan surprised me with one of our favorite activities—a trip to the zoo—followed by dinner and dessert at one of our favorite spots. When we got home, I walked into a beautiful proposal setup in the backyard. To make the day even more special, our closest friends and family were there to celebrate with us afterward. The Lord has been so faithful throughout our relationship, and we are incredibly grateful for every step of this journey. We cannot wait to begin this next chapter as husband and wife and celebrate with all of the people we love most.
