Travel Tips

We highly recommend taking the ferry from Naples, as it is the easiest, most efficient, and most scenic option. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, with tickets typically costing around $36–$40 USD per person. We suggest booking in advance, especially during peak travel season. There are typically 5–6 direct ferries daily from Naples, operated by NLG and Positano Jet / Lucibello, with common departure times around 8:35 AM, 10:00 AM, 10:45 AM, 2:05 PM, 2:40 PM, and 3:35 PM. Please note schedules may vary depending on the season and weather conditions.
There is also a train option from Naples via Trenitalia or Italo to Salerno, followed by a ferry or car transfer to Amalfi. This route can take a bit longer but is another convenient option.
Most ferries arrive in Positano or Amalfi rather than Praiano. For guests staying in Praiano, we recommend taking the ferry to Positano followed by a water taxi (about €13) or regular taxi (about €40).
