We met in 2009 at Vince's Spaghetti, a restaurant we both worked at. The restaurant has since closed down which is why we joke that we "found love in a hopeless place." As told by many of the groomsmen, Darren wanted to ask me out for months, but was just too nervous to do it...and if you know Darren, this shouldn't come as a surprise. He finally worked up the courage to ask me on a date in November 2010, and the rest is history!

Over Christmas 2018, we took an amazing trip to Thailand and Dubai. I had a feeling something might be happening, but didn't want to overthink it. I figured if he was going to propose, it would definitely be in Thailand on the beach. Little did I know.... After we left Thailand and flew to Dubai, I figured it wasn't going to happen, and that was okay! On our second night in Dubai, we were walking along the beach, watching the sunset. I was getting a little antsy because he kept wanting to stand there and kiss me, and if you know me, I can get just a little bit impatient. ;) As I'm telling him that I'm ready to go (because there is only so much sunset you can see & it was time for happy hour), he gets down on one knee and asks me to be his wife. I actually don't remember what he said, because I was in shock, but it was the happiest moment of our lives (thus far). And to top it off, we were in Dubai visiting one of my best friends & bridesmaids, Bailey, who was able to witness it all! I still can't believe he pulled it off without me finding out. He traveled across the world and throughout Thailand with the ring, hired a photographer to capture the moments and completely caught me off guard with the biggest surprise of my life. It was an amazing day (and trip!) that we will never forget - January 2, 2019.
