We met through our mutual friends at the University of Minnesota in 2019 and started dating May of that year! We took our first hiking trip up to Duluth in October of 2020 where we hiked at Tettegouche State Park in the snow, sleet, and rain. Halfway through the hike we found a lake that was a perfect resting spot and gave us the energy to continue on with our wet and snowy hike. We joked at that time if we could have that much fun hiking in the rain and snow, we could have fun doing anything together! In May of 2024, 5 years after we started dating, we returned to the same lake at Tettegouche and Sam proposed!
